Teacher Welfare

Teacher Benefits Programs

The ATT provides a myriad of benefits for its teachers. These benefits include:

Insurance/Pension

Teacher Stipends

The Associated Talmud Torahs is the official representative to the Illinois State Board of Education for federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Title programs. All Jewish schools in Chicago and the suburbs fall under this rubric. Title I benefits schools with Chicago students at this time and is allocated through Chicago Public Schools. Title IIA and Title IV comes from Chicago Public Schools for Chicago schools and from the suburban Local Educational Agencies for the Skokie schools.

Please note:

  • Stipend numbers fluctuate year to year depending on available professional development funding in that year’s allocation.
  • In order to receive stipends, these schools had teachers who participated in systemic or school-based professional development programs.

Teacher Simcha Fund

At the 2013 ATT Gala, a special announcement was made announcing the Rebbetzin Etta Rivka Zucker a”h Teacher Simcha Fund (sponsored by Chicago Day School Community Lay Leaders). Currently, only weddings are eligible to receive funds from the Teacher Simcha Fund, with the hope that the fund will be expanded to cover other Simchas in the future. All full-time teachers in the ATT School System are eligible to receive a significant contribution towards wedding expenses. For questions and requests, please contact Rabbi Mordechai Raizman, Executive Director of Operations, ATT, at 773-973-2828 or mraizman@att.org.
