The Oscar A. and Bernice Novick PTACH Program

Founded in the late 1970's for families in the Chicago area, PTACH services students in grades 1-8 with learning disabilities and mild behavior issues. PTACH currently has self-contained classrooms at Arie Crown Hebrew Day School and Joan Dachs Bais Yaakov. Students are mainstreamed and integrated into the home school program promoting academic, social, and personal success.

PTACH strives to:

• provide a well-rounded and supportive environment for children exhibiting learning disabilities
• provide those children with a Jewish education in a thoroughly Jewish atmosphere, which is sensitive to their needs on a individual basis
• integrate these children with their peers in the hopes that they will be totally mainstreamed within a Day School setting.

PTACH Annual Melava Malka

2015-

The ATT and PTACH thank the more than 200 people who attended the PTACH 2015 Essence Café this past Motzei Shabbos. They were treated to a beautiful evening. They were inspired by Shari Furnstahl’s personal story and message about people who learn differently and the success they can achieve. Mazel Tov to Mrs. Esther Pomerantz (JDBY), Mrs. Tziporah Safirstein (ACHDS), and Mrs. Yonina Yovits (ACHDS) who received the PTACH Inclusion Teacher of the Year Award. Thank you to all the volunteers who made the evening so successful.
