Government/State Programs

ATT is a leader in all matters of nonpublic education including federal funding and state programs. It represents its schools at quarterly meetings of nonpublic school officials in Illinois. ATT was a founding member of the Illinois Coalition of Nonpublic Schools (ICNS) and has served on its executive board since 1990. ATT is also the affiliate representative of the Jewish schools to Chicago Public Schools and meets with other nonpublic school affiliates there on a monthly basis.

School registration and recognition process with ISBE

To receive federal or state funding, ATT schools need to complete the registration process with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). Schools may then voluntarily achieve and maintain state educational standards for full recognition by ISBE. ATT helps schools with both processes and continues to play a critical role in a school's recognition status.

Title I, II, III, and IV Funding for Schools

ATT is the official liaison to the State of Illinois to provide services and materials for its schools through the Federal Title programs in ESSA - Every Student Succeeds Act. Through its efforts ATT annually obtains close to $1.5 million in remediation services for reading and math for its schools including academic counseling, parent involvement programs, and professional development as requested by the schools' administration.  ATT also obtains close to $200,000 for professional development services to impact the core curricular subject areas, as well as funding for services and materials for students who need help in English language proficiency. Title IV is also being accessed to provide enrichment programs for schools, safe and healthy school environments, and technology enhancements.

IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) Reauthorization

ATT is the consultant to its schools regarding the reauthorization of IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act). ATT helps schools submit reports of students eligible for special education services so funding can be established to provide these services in the private schools.
